Jan Voboril: Driver Born March 1943 in Prague, Czechoslovakia where he lived until escaping to Italy in 1968 because of the political unrest. Prior to leaving Prague, he had finished four years of school in applied arts. After only one year in Rome, Italy he saved enough money to come to America. He moved directly to California in 1969 and worked for various vintage car restorers.From 1986 to 1992 he worked at Hughes Helicopter as a mechanical engineer. Next he worked at Hill and Vaughn with 1962 World Champion Race Car Driver Phil Hill to restore Pioneer Era cars on a full time basis. His Restoration 3 of a 1922 Hispano Suiza won “Best of the Show” in the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. All other years that he has entered a car, they have won the minimum of “Best in the Class” (1912 Panhart and 1916 Hispano Suiza). In both 2004 and 2005 Jan won the Historic Vintage car race with a 1924 Frontenac Ford while winning the famous Ford Motor Company Memorial Trophy. For the past 27 years Mr. Voboril has hosted a New Year’s Day drive with well over 100 vintage cars. Many famous car owners attend, among them Jay Leno and, of course, Phil Hill. He presently operates one of the top eight restoration shops in the United States. He married Olga in 1982 and has three children: Sabina, Michelle and John. He presently lives in Topanga, California. |

| R. Rick Moos: Navigator Born in October 1941 in Detroit Michigan, where he attended Tappen Junior High School and Madison High School. He then went on to Albion College on a basketball scholarship in 1959. In 1960 Rick worked for Smith Industries, a car fabricator, working up parts for GM, Ford and Chrysler years in advance of their release to the public. He moved to Santa Monica, California in 1962, getting his first job in the banking industry with Bank of America, where he worked for over twenty years. He then went to First Interstate Bank as President of the Securities Lending Division, where he worked until joining Security Pacific National Bank in 1990 in a similar position. He then cofounded Metropolitan West Securities in 1992 and remained there until his retirement in 2004 when Wachovia Bank purchased Met West. Over the years he has been very active in community activities. In 1968 he was one of the originators of the Watts Summer Games while working in the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce (LAJCC). As the 1975 President of the LAJCC, he presided over the 50th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Open Golf Tournament. He served on the Los Angeles Area Chamber of commerce Board of Directors. Throughout the years he has served for numerous civic organizations to help there causes. He is married to his wife Callie for over 43 years with two sons: Randal and his wife Karen with their two sons Riley and Justin, and son Ryan with his wife Pamela. He has lived in Topanga, California since 1964. |
