Bill Erickson was born in Oakland, California August 1950. Bill’s dad was an Air Force officer and at the age of six he moved with his parents to Spokane, Washington. Later he would attend Walla Walla College majoring in industrial mechanics. After a brief stint at an exotic car dealership, Bill launched Erickson Auto a repair and restoration facility in Ventura, California. Bill has a unique gift for fixing all things mechanical. He’s participated in the Mille Miglia and the 2000-mile grueling La Carrera Panamericana. Bill has a son from a previous marriage Seth who is a RN in Thousand Oaks, California. He is married to Teal Rowe, a talented glass sculptor. |

Steve Dole was born in Kansas circa 1939. His dad was a farmer so Steve enjoyed the benefits of a peaceful upbringing in rural America. He attended University of Kansas graduating in 1962 and subsequently did a 4-year tour of duty in Vietnam as a Navy engineer. After being discharged he learned to fly and went to work for United Airlines piloting Boeing 720, 727,767 and Douglas DC-6, DC-8 and DC-10 aircraft. He retired as a Captain after 33 years of distinguished service. Widowed after 37 years of marriage Steve has two children daughter Jennifer, a student in Montpelier, Vermont and son Tracy a banker in Santa Maria. Steve and Bill have been friends for 25 years. In 2003 they teamed-up to drive La Carrera Panamericana. |
